Although I don’t watch a lot of television there are certain TV programs or movies I am guided to watch. When I follow my heart I am often drawn to programs that are filled with hope and inspiration. One of those shows recently has been the auditions for X Factor.
The auditions are so heart warming because we get to witness individuals who are courageous enough to follow their dream and take a risk putting themselves out there. One of the auditions hit my heart so deeply that I was inspired to write this blog. Carlo Guevara shared his struggle with turrets syndrome and it was extremely touching for everyone including the judges.
The one thing that plays over and over again in my mind is that fact that when he has a turret “tic”, he apologized for it. It made me sad because it was as if he was apologizing for being him. While he accepted his condition he was apologizing over and over again.
My message to Carlo Guevara and everyone else is to continue to be courageous enough to be a full expression of YOU no matter what that looks like to others. May we all be brave like Carlo’s and shine our light bright in this world and release all fear of judgment.
Stop apologizing for who you are and embrace all of who you are. You are a gift to this world. You are a miracle! Shine bright, play big, reach for your dreams, follow your heart and you will touch the hearts of many just the way Carlo’s touched mine.
