Starting your day with hot lemon water is very supportive to your digestive system. It aids in digestion and elimination and provides acid for your stomach. Our stomach produces hydrochloric acid (HCl) to help breakdown our food so we can digest it and absorb all the nutrients our bodies need.
Many people have very low HCl which causes poor digestion. Before I starting having lemon water each morning I experienced slight symptoms of heart burn. While most would think taking an antacid to reduce the acid in the stomach is the answer, for the majority of people it is the opposite. When I added lemon water to my daily routine my symptoms disappeared and my digestion improved. I was also directed by my doctor at Sanoviv Medical Institute to take HCL tablets before every meal for 3-6 months. The combination of the two worked well for me.
